The Gathering
Have you ever seen or felt like a chicken trying to gather up her chicks.
It's really no wonder the Savior used them in His teaching.
"How oft would I have gathered thee as a hen gathereth her chicks".
I had a friend teaching a Sunday School class recently on this subject and she asked me if I would paint something for it as a visual.
This is visual.
I wanted each chick to be different.
The one off to itself on the left looks sort of afraid and not wanting to get too far from mom.
The one farthest on the right is trying to get away but not too far.
The grouping of three, (there's safety in numbers) all have different expressions.
The one on the left is definitely the follower in the group.
The middle chick is brave, but not the leader.
The one on the right is the leader, but thinks she's been caught.
Mom is just patiently waiting trying to get her "chicks in a group".
Life is so like that.
Trying to get everyone on the same page can be hard.
But, when it does all come together,
there is that sweet peace that things are right with the heavens.
18" x 14" framed acrylic on a panel.
