 We have two market days in Carrollton, KY.,

Wednesday in the afternoon and Saturday morning.

We also have a huge variety of products at our market.

But these two were spectacular this past fall.

Beautiful hardy mums and every kind of fall decorative imaginable.

We're on the down hill slope in the 30 in 30 challenge.

My husband and I have been farmers marketers for years.  We have raised everything you can grow, including four kids, in Kentucky accept for tobacco.  We've raised vegetables, fruits, berries, herbs, flowers, and even peanuts.  We've had green houses, gardens, and even built our own market on our farm in another part of Kentucky.  We belong to our local RiverView Farmer's Market here in Carroll County, KY. and have for years.

This is not our booth.  This belongs to another fellow farmer, Mandy, and she had the most gorgeous booth this past fall.  She brought in corn shocks, hay bales, all these pumpkins, squash and other kinds of fall decorations.  Mandy does all this work with two small boys who come and "help" her at the market.  They are old enough now they really do help, but she's been bringing them since they were in diapers.  Give a shout out to Houston and Patrick.  If you know them, leave a comment.

Hopefully where ever you live you regularly visit local farmers markets in your area.  Your food will be fresher, last longer, much longer, and have delicious taste you cannot get in a grocery store.  Besides, it is beautiful.

Getting Ready for Camp Ernst Middle School

New Walls -  New Show

This Saturday I'm heading to Camp Ernst Middle School 

for a one day art and craft show.

It's from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Burlington, KY  41005

Hope to see some of you there.

My husband Jim built me some new display walls and I set them up in the basement to see how they would work and how things would look.

So what do you think?

These 2 walls have barn and landscape paintings on them.

This wall has my hand painted home decor on it.

This is the first time I've been able to display it so well.

I'm pretty excited about it.

Except for the cupcake, 

this wall has paintings with water on it.  

Jim made four walls for me and they come apart and I can carry them

and put them together by myself.  

I downloaded plans off the internet and Jim made them.

It didn't go exactly as the plans said, but he made it work.

They are beautiful.

Here is the finished and framed newest painting using a new technique.

My gourd took third place

My painted gourd took third place at the Kentucky State Fair.

Jim and I spent Thursday at the fair checking out 

dairy cattle,

dairy goats,

chickens,

pigeons,

and

Jim's favorite

Rabbits.

We saw quilts, clothing, jellies, jams, 

pies, cookies, cakes, jewelry,

antiques, crocheted and knitted items,

tomatoes, cabbage, watermelon, and all sorts of produce.

There were baskets, floral arrangements, photography,

drawings, and paintings.

Neither of my paintings scored a ribbon,

but my gourd did.

It had a mountain lake scene on it.

It was a fun day.

I didn't mention the food.  

Maybe next time I'll tell you how much ice cream I ate.

But maybe not.
