Word of the Year 2018

Finish

Is my 2018 Word of the Year

"Finish"

Finish, you say?

Yep that's the word.

You're thinking to yourself -
What kind of a word of the year is that?

Well, it's the word I NEED!
I don't need the word for paintings,
because I seldom don't finish and if I do finish and don't like it, I gesso over it and try again.

But, I need it in other areas of my artistic life.
I've been working on a project for at least 6 months,
and I keep getting side tracked.

I NEED to Finish!
I don't know why I haven't been able to finish it.
It's important to my business.
I want to finish it.
But FEAR keeps popping up in my mind.
What will happen if I finish and fail.
What will happen if I finish and I can't keep up with success?

Totally different fears, but they show up in my
subconscious all the time.

I am starting each day with a specific morning routine.
Scripture study and inspirational reading.
Exercise.
Shower.
Breakfast.

Then two hours on this project.

Lunch.

Two hours of creative time.

I have found for me,
if I lay out my day in blocks like that,
I get things done.
I get things FINISHED!

So,
Now you know!
I'm a tad OCD and this is how I role!

I'll get back to you on my progress...

But let me know in the comments if you have a word of the year and what it is,
and if having that word changes how you approach things.

I appreciate you stopping by, commenting
 and sharing my blog.
Let's see if we can finish something together in 2018!
