New Color - New Works

 Changing The Color Up.

I've never painted gladiolus before and I got so involved with painting the flowers, I totally forgot other elements that make a painting look real and pop.

I'm fairly certain you can see it, but I was so frustrated with that big purple blossom that I totally forgot about adding the reflections to the jar and the shadow under and next to the jar.  I did also fix that purple blossom.

Glad Party

24" x 12" acrylic on stretched canvas, unframed

$150 + shipping.

Here's another piece in that same color palette.

End of Summer
 12" x 12" gallery wrap canvas, unframed
$150 - Includes Shipping

These 2 pieces were painted from life of flowers my husband Jim and one of our grandsons, Ren, planted this year at our new home.  They have been absolutely gorgeous and we have picked many armfuls of gladiolus, zinnias, roses and daisies.

Fresh flowers are so beautiful and they add so much to a home.

Both pieces have a paper backing and are wired to hang.

An Artful Baby Shower

 Welcoming a New Baby

was So Much FUN!

All that pink is just to throw you off the track.

We were welcoming a baby boy.

Vince was a foster son of ours, and he and his wife Abbey decided it was time to grow their family.

So, we had to have a baby shower.

I wanted to share with you a gift I painted for them.

This sort of came to my in my sleep one night.

It was loads of fun to paint.

I have no idea what color of hair this baby will have,

but I gave him red hair.

It's a weird time to throw a shower, because of the whole social distancing thing, and the mask thing.

But my young friend Sarah helped me pull it off.

Sarah and I are ready for the shower.

We made individual hand sanitizers as favors.

We did our best to have food that was safe

and individually served.

Those are fruit cups in the ice cream cones

 in the background.

We had chili and pimento cheese sandwiches on skewers.

This is a close up of the hand sanitizers.

We rented a shelter house at a local park

to have enough space and fresh air.

We were very lucky it was an absolutely gorgeous day.

We had a great time.

I know this is a departure from my normal blog post,

but we had to get creative on how to do this,

so I though that counted.

Thanks for stopping by today and

I hope you enjoyed the shower.
