Washed Up
On a walk down the beach in Myrtle Beach several years ago,
I saw this part of a boat that had washed up on the beach.
I'd never seen anything this large wash up before, so of course I had to photograph it.
Now that I have it in my reference arsenal,
Naturally I had to paint it.
I'm so ready for a trip to the beach, can you tell.
Yes, you MUST go to the beach so you can collect more reference photos! Sharon, you are really good at painting waves. I really like how you did the foamy part. Is the paint thick there? Unique composition.
ReplyDeleteI build it up with at least three to five passes over it but the most important thing is a thin dark shadow where the foam meets the sand. Doesn't work without it.
