Mountain Marsh Progression Painting

Mountain Marsh Progression

My son James, lives near Logan, UT and one a recent trip I took a lot of photos of the marshes there in the valley.
I know, who knew there were marshes in the dessert.

It is a stunning view.

My challenge: should I decide to accept it,
is to paint the above photo using every skill and piece of knowledge I had.
You know I can't resist a challenge!

Here's the proof!

Here's the finished product,
I think!

It's not signed yet,
but I "think" it's finished.

  1. That is one gorgeous place! Nice job on this one, Sharon! Phew, those mountains make me cold, although I do recognize you warmed up the photo some. Great to see you painting again. Much to my dismay, the video wouldn't load...

  3. Awesome painting, Sharon! You really did a wonderful interpretation of the photo. I love your clouds and the beautiful colors used throughout the painting.

  4. Thanks Fay. I really appreciate your comment. This was a fun one because of the challenge and because I've seen it so many times with my son. Still haven't signed it yet, but I think it's done.
