Re-Working Again

Re-Working
Again!

Painting is learning!
Always learning.
Always learning and improving.

I had an inspiration painting I used over a year ago,
but never got anywhere near where I wanted mine to go.

Painted it.

Re-painted it.

Re-re-painted it.

Finally, I got something I am happy with.
I'm not even sure if I have a photo of every version of the painting.

This is either the second or third re-work.
I don't hate it like I did # 2 or #3.
But I didn't like it.

I went into my new studio above the gallery last week and
decided now is the time to git r done.

I'm finished.
It's finished.

Happy,
but finished.

By the way, if you haven't checked out my new gallery
River Run Gallery and Fun Art Studio
I'm adding some links for you to check out.

If you go to my blog, I hope you'll consider subscribing to it,
so you will always know about the art, new artists, new shows and new classes.
We have lots going on and I'd hate for you to miss it all.

Thanks for all your support.
I really do appreciate it.

I know,
I'm a social butterfly.

It's Been A While

It's Been a While

Yes it has!

As most of you may know, I've opened
449 Main St.,
Carrollton, KY  41004
and it has been a whirlwind for the past two months.

I have been setting up the gallery,
finding just the right artists for you to enjoy their work,
teaching classes,
and all things retail.

I haven't had much time to paint,

But, I had this one painting that bugged me because I was never really happy with it.

This is where it started.
Actually, that's not 100% true.
This is it after I re-did it the first time.
This painting and I have quite a history.

Final, final, final version.

As you can see, I enlarged the rocks as they got closer to the foreground.
I took out all the plant life on the closest rock piles.
I sped up the water and changed it's color in the foreground.
Made it more rugged, (I hope).

Finally, something I am happy with.

24" x 18" unframed acrylic on a panel.
I give you
Blue Lagoon.

About Me

My photo
Ghent, Kentucky, United States
I'm a nature artist and I love to paint old barns, rivers and lakes, trees and fence rows. I work almost daily trying to improve my art and all that entails. I try to learn all I can from others and from the earth itself by being aware of all God has created and its beauty. You can purchase paintings by contacting me at slgraves6@gmail.com. You can also purchase through my gallery website at www.riverrungallery.com . Thank you so much for stopping by.
