Day 20 Dahlia Drama

Day 20 Dahlia Drama

Dahlias are nothin if not dramatic.
We have raised dahlias for florist shops for a number of years.
Some years are better than others.

Even grew some for our sons wedding.

Dahlias come in a zillion colors and some pretty incredible sizes.
This was painted with water mixable oils and I used a palette knife.

$50 + $6 shipping

Because this is oil it will not be ready to ship for a minimum of six weeks.

  1. Wonderful!
I've never had any luck at all keeping Dahlias alive. What is the secret? I love them though.

  2. You have to dig them up in the fall and then, if you're lucky and very very good, you might keep them alive if you store the tubers in dry paper bag in a dry dark place through the winter and then replant them in the spring. Good Luck. It's not called Dahlia Drama for nothin. hehe.
