Day 5, Cardinal #2

The first cardinal painting I did during the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge was lots of fun,
but I felt I had a lot to learn so I painted another one.

The learning curve on birds is pretty high and there may be another one coming soon without the snow.

Having a great time doing this challenge.

Here's both bird paintings next to each other.

You can see the one on the left is lots fatter, maybe he's colder and more puffed up.

The sky on the right is much bluer.

  1. Great job on the Cardinal, Sharon. I just love the textural effect on his feathers, giving a fluffy look.
I also like to paint subjects several times and each time I see something I didn't notice before.

  2. Fantastic cardinal, Sharon. I like the blue of the sky in this one, too...fun to try new things with the same subject matter.
